Day 5

Day 5 - Sweet dreams

Sweet dreams. Before i can immerse myself into deep, sound sleep or to my wonderful land on cloudnine, i always have the habit of reading a book first. I can't remember when this so-called "habit" began, but ever since then, i can never sleep soundly without a chapter or two beforehand. Some may say it's a bad habit because it keeps your mind racing, but i say, BRING ON THE STORIES! Of course i won't say it's an effective way to fall asleep, unless it's a history book. I have, as a matter of fact broken my record of sleeping at 4am reading a book without feeling an inch tired. The culprit? The Hunger Games. (My current obsession) Gawd, i love that book. With all the hecticness during the day, a book (to me) is a great way to drift away to a more subtle and calmer 'imaginative world'. With that, comes (often enough) a sweet dream.

Day 2

Day 2 - Something I love

Something (I) love. This one is tough. There are so many 'things' that i love. If i start listing them, i swear your eyes will bulge out of your socket. No.. I am not joking. After much thought, i finally came up with the one sentimental thing that i truly love. My childhood. Oh, how i miss it so dearly. The thought of my kid days, makes me smile as wide as The Grinch. This picture was taken many, many, years ago. If i knew the exact year, i would probably cry, knowing how long it was ago. So, let's just stick to many, many, ok? And yes, i am on a bike. Not those little motorcycles mat rempits ride on. It's a big bike, for big men. We used to ride it around town with my unrelated relative to go for supper. I think the most i love about my childhood is the people who made it so wonderful. I miss you meh meh and jiejie.

Some pictures taken during the new year.

My creative juices are kinda slowing down lately. Sorry for the dull and almost unhappy tone in my writing recently. Trying to get my so call 'groove' going with a little work here and there and some personal side projects. About a month or so ago (has it been that long already?), i helped out as a student helper at my school. That was fun too. Met a lot of new people - which is always a good thing. I'm thinking of signing up for the 2012 prom committee. I never been to my own highschool prom and although with countless opportunities during college, i never once step foot near any sort of 'prom-ish' events before. Sad school life isn't it? More the reason why i want to be part of this year's university prom. In a way, it's my last chance. :(

It's going to be a long weekend ahead. Seriously, Malaysia have too many public holidays. It's almost unnecessary. *gasp* Coming from someone who loves a free-day?! The family is (was) planning a short trip but i think now it's gone down the shredder machines yet again. Explains my bitterness towards this coming public holiday. I guess it's going to be just me,  a cup of hot non-caffeinated drink, and some leisure reading once again.

Chinese New Year

P1010741

A new year it is (in the chinese calendar). Nothing too exciting happened in the first few days. Everything was quite... normal per se. The weather was even more upsetting. Rain. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, and sometimes at night. Never at the same time.

I foresee the year being much more joyous this time around. I'm finally going to be an aunt! (i think my first time announcing here and another baby cousin bro is along the way too!) And hopefully*, a little travelling by the end of the year. Very nervous to see what's ahead but like every thing else in life, i'm taking it one step at a time.

Cheers!

It's Chinese New Year next week. I can't say i am excited because i'm not. This year seem a little different from other years. The decorations are up and yet i feel nothing but stuck in the remaining days of 2011. Well, these pictures are definitely outdated. Maybe my post-twenty-eleven are kinda sucky. Did i mention my 2012 began real bad? My dad injured himself, my brother-in-law had a football accident, i fell sick, and my mom bruised herself during a bowling tournament. Bad luck roaming around? I need some garlic to ward off evil spirits.

Leops

Prints are a spotted trend today. Not a big fan of leopard prints but got this skirt for RM20 only! Steal!

What happen to my weekend? No, really... what happen? I honestly thought it was a Saturday today. I woke up hoping to find my usual pack of nasi lemak waiting for me to chomp down like every usual weekend. Instead, i woke up to an empty house. How sad. Took me a moment to realize it's actually a Monday. (A new week already???!! What happen to my previous week?!) Haha. I guess i was so preoccupied with stuff that i didn't realize time has passed. Last [,last] week i had a chilled fun day with the family. This [last] week was all about making new friends, meeting new people, and shaking hands with all sorts of hands. I had fun, truthfully, more fun than my whole uni year put together. Awww.... Well then, now back to my usual holiday plans. Next up, Christmas dinner!

Happy holidays and merry Christmas...

Sépia

I wish i lived in a cafe - where i can get all my favourite food at anytime of the day. Don't you? Coming from someone who doesn't have the privilege of eating home cook meal everyday, i relish the idea of having someone cook for me everyday (besides the 'chap fun' lady i tapau from every other day). Marry a chef i must! (Hahaha.. shhh!) The weekend's almost coming to an end but good news, it's a public holiday tomorrow for Selangor-ians! Happy birthday to our Sultan. Anyway, the weekend has been rather fulfilling. Date-d with the parents. Their way of compensating their promised-holiday to me. :( Not what i had in mind but spending time with the folks is always a good way to spend a long weekend. Next week's gonna be busy! Welcoming new students gonna be tiring as i last remembered.

Cheers!

Pasta day

Was feeling obsessionally chef-ish today. Couldn't resist myself from doing something practical for the past few days. Yesterday, i just drew finish my craft set idea (that i've put on hold since last year). I've always love making crafts like origami(s) and fancy artwork but never had enough $$$ to buy the materials. So, i usually just jot down my ideas somewhere and wait for a fortune to one day drop onto my lap or something. Maybe not. Anyways, today i made myself lunch, something i rarely do. Normally, it would just be junk food or an empty stomach for lunch. I can't help but think this whole i-can't-sit-down-and-do-nothing hyper-activeness has something to do with the exercise routine i've been struggling working on (2nd week now!). I have to admit, it wasn't as easy keeping up with it. It takes a hell lot more of will power to wake up at 7am almost everyday. Couple of times, i literally switch off my phone to stop it from ringing - sub-consciously!!! As in i was still asleep but my brain sort of made its way to my hands to find the 'off' button on my phone. Creepy. But all in all, since i didn't weight myself to see any weight loss (or gain... because i still eat tons of junk food), all i know is, i'm liking the results so far - emotional and mental wise. Looks like all the Biggest Loser success story is true after all. Although i must point out, by evening time, i feel totally exhausted and shuts down immediately after my head hits the pillow.

Insomnia people, a good tip for you perhaps?

Oh, today's such a beautiful day isn't it? No rain . Just sunny sun and cool air.  : )

Happy December everyone...

16th page

Books has been my partner this whole week. Finally, i am able to sit by the window with my feet snuggled in the most worn-out but comfy socks in the world (no, i'm exaggerating... or am I?) and let my mind drift away into a non-existent fictional world. I guess that's why i love story books so much. The fictional characters' life seem much more interesting than mine i guess. : )

The pile of books hasn't move an inch since we brought it back home last month from an awesome book sale. I need to find a storage place for all of it soon. Now, it's just taking up space on the dining table which adds to the mess that is already on it. Mom, chill... it will magically disappear before Chinese New Year next year.

Right?

I snap you,
you snap me... :P

Some pictures from my birthday. Pictures credited to the penguin lover. :D

The girls.
The boys.
I ♥ that my family came to celebrate with me.

1) Besides story books, also got the cookbook by Jamie Oliver. The love mentor of my life. Hahaha. It was he who had me add the extra "requirement" to the dream guy list - someone who can cook! xD He was the person who made me fall in love with cooking and baking from The Naked Chef series. I wanted this cookbook when it first came out in 2002 but i remember it costing about RM200! I got that copy for only RM25! More reason why i love sale.
2) The website i designed for my web design class. My first time playing around with WYSIWYG interface. And i love it, except for the HTML codes tho. Those things give me headache. I'm quite happy with the end result. It actually links!
3) The stuff to get this weekend to start my macarons trial&error session. Do you see what i see in that picture? *creepy*
4) And a few pictures of the night of redemption, my birthday dinner. Redemption because i ruin the whole plans for the perfect 21st birthday party when i fell sick and couldn't get out of bed. Thank God for letting me get back on my feet and for the irreplaceable company i had that night.

Today marks the 16th week for my family. *grins* Will reveal what that means soon. Meanwhile...

Bye!

To-do's

To-do list for the next 2 months [in no particular order]:
(a no- picture post)

1. Bake macarons.
Been meaning to make these when i first tasted them, on the tip of my tongue, melting in mouth. My God, it's amazing. And from the looks of it, all you need is 4 basic ingredients (with other additional flavours + colouring you like). But i've read many blogs and write-ups about making macarons and it's much, much more difficult than it looks. You need to get the right temperature, the right amount of beating, the right amount of time to cool, etc, etc... Or else it'll just fall apart and crack. Not good. If i succeed, macarons for everyone! :D

2. Exercise.
I know what you're thinking... "yeah right... she'll never do it". It's true. It's been my new year resolution for as long as i can remember. And till today, never once i put up a pace to my usual walking. Alas, I am determine to change that. Yesterday, i bought my very first pair of running shoes. What's more? It was on sale! (Love sale items!) I am determine to walk, jog, run, flip, flap, flop, whatever, at least 4 times a week - 20 minutes a day. And if i can run for at least 15 minutes by myself, i may (and i say, 'may') join my dad every morning at 6.30am. :)
If i can will up a 3000 word essay in 2 weeks, i know i have the will power to change to a healthier lifestyle.

3. Snap, snap, snap!
Photographs that is. My next quest - Kuala Lumpur!

4. Get a job.
Yeah, 2 months of holiday is awesome but staying home and rot isn't exactly my ideal way of spending a productive holiday. So, a job it is. Time to pull out the Star Classifieds and log on to Jobstreet. Who's willing to hire me on a 2 month basis? xD

5. Holiday.
Dear family, can we take a short, short holiday to somewhere? Anywhere! We don't even need to buy anything. Only petrol and food. Pur...leasee...? Dear friends, can we please, please make the field-trip we've been talking about since we were 17 into reality? Seriously. God only knows, how long i've rant about this. But i really, really want a holiday!!! Please sweep me off somewhere other than my lovely home.

6. Chop my locks again.
It's getting addictive really. I love long hair. But i'm starting to love short hair too. It's easier, more manageable, and save on shampoo! Lol.

7. Develop my first analogue film.
8. And start building my lomo wall!
The beauty of it, makes me speechless. *excited*

9. Beauty sleep.
Kung Fu Panda in da' house! Right, i am not as cute as Po. But my eyes are as black as Po's. Terrible. I need more quality sleep!

Cheers all.

Beans means

Feeling really inspired after watching this. Have always been a fan of stop motions as soon as i knew what it was and this video just made me remember how incredible it can be. Top off with jelly beans (MY FAVE) and the amazing voice of Kina Grannis, makes it super eargasm and eye-gasm. xD

Kina recently won the MTV O Music Awards for Best Web-Born Artist. Couldn't agree more. Huge congrats.

Behind the scenes: The making of the jelly bean video.
(Doesn't it look like she was actually standing up? Greg Jardin is amazing too.)

Did a couple of stop motions for my uni assignments previously but now, i can't wait to do it again! Tiring process but the result's worth it, no?

I'm hoping there is such project in Malaysia soon so i can get involved in it too. Would love to be on the set of such sweet-smacking production.

Here's one stop motion video i've posted long, long time ago on my Tumblr page.

Incredible ain't it?

August bogus

Another 'personal' post. Bogus means something that is not true or legitimate or simply - bullshit, silly and unbelievable.

Breakfast + snack
=
Omelet, baked beans, butter toast + Chocolate muffin topped with Nutella.

It's back to school and although it's only the second week, i'm already feeling the pressure of datelines and et cetera. I dread waking up at 6am every morning nowadays. I wish i could sleep till 10 or 12pm like always, i mean, like during the holidays. You can probably expect the M.I.A-ness here for awhile. I swear to update whenever possible. You have my word.

Above are some of my photolog i collected over the holiday weeks. There are more but feeling the strain of the copy+paste "procedure" from my ex.hard disk to the computer. [usually keep the original file in my hard disk and a resize one in my computer hard drive]

The 'CelebrateLife' band was given to me free many years ago when i still bought magazines. I never wore it because i used to think it was kinda' tacky. Until my late grandfather suffered from cancer and only then i started wearing it. Well, i stopped wearing it when i thought i loss it. Now it's back on my wrist again.

As for the food. Sorry. Should have warn ya' about it. Also, did a little reading and photo collage editing too.The book really made me see the word 'love' differently. But then again, i still believe in forever. Hopelessly romantic i am.

Went for a nice dinner with the family the other day to La Bodega. A Spanish restaurant i remember staring day and night at when i was working at a boutique next door. This one's another outlet at Empire Subang. The lighting was photographically miserable. Can't get a good shot with the Panasonic without flash.

Pro-Canon! Canon, Canon!!!

P.s.: I'm thinking I need a blog revamp. Do people really want to read my silly ranting?

Days-after

Next week will be the second half of my university freshman year (first year). Kind of excited because i can't wait to get all busy again. Then again, who really wants to give up the lazy days of lying in bed with my laptop watching back-to-back episodes of Pretty Little Liars and a bowl of cereal in hand?

Not me of course. I guess everything good always have to come to an end.

My holiday snack consist of chocolate chip peanut butter and Nutella. Sinful!!!!!
Another "life" update = My social media haven't been very active lately. Mainly Facebook. (There i said it.) I'm trying to cut back on my Facebook usage by reading more miscellaneous blogs, learning more photoshop skills online, etc. I admit that my Facebook obsession has become an everyday problem for me. I spent almost half an hour stalking people's updates. Not in a creepy way put bad enough that it messes up my priorities. For example, instead of brainstorming ideas for assignments first thing i get hold of an internet connection; i log onto Facebook. I think Facebook being my homepage is one of the contributing factors. A week ago, i officially changed Google as my homepage. (wheee... kudos to me!)

And i can proudly say, i have not been seeing the blue and white san-serif logo for at least 24 hours now. Woohooo!!!!! Haha. I know. 24 hours doesn't mean anything but like Neil Armstrong said "one small step for a [wo]man, one giant leap for [wo]mankind." And hey, that's an improvement considering my past must-log-in-Facebook-now obsession.

Cheers~

Unfortunately 24 hours is all i can stand with my itchy hands logging into it via mobile. =.= Yes. Mobile. Curse you Technology!

Airborne

Hi everyone. Busy, busy week is it?

Well, luckily for the weekend, we can all sit back and relax a bit.

Just got back from a short but happy picnic with my (seriously) very long-time friends. Knew some since highschool, while some when i was only 7 years old. And i'm 20 going on to 21 this year! Am i old or am i old?
Don't answer that!

Stumbled upon a very unlucky accident (more unlucky for my friend), where i wish i could reverse and make sure it never happen, but unfortunately, i am no Stan Lee's creation nor J.K Rowling's, with super-awesome powers / magic. I felt so bad and sorry for her but in a way; i thank God that it was a damage car and not anything or anyone else. Although of course, the car was as important for it being my friend's precious possession.  I hope everything settles smoothly with the car and everything else, Joyce.

Individual shot. Joyce's pic is too cute. Don't be jealous.
Damn, i just realize they all look so fair! Why am i not as fair as them??! *cries*
Pretty cupcakes from Bisou. We are cupcake freaks. :]
Vitamin of the day.
Why the long face?
Actually like the sequence of the picture. x)

As you can see, the weather was nice and sunny but for us Malaysians, overly sunny. So, we migrated to a desert place to cool ourselves down.

Can't really remember the name of the desert nor the desert place but a description will do won't it?
This one's a iced vanilla drink. Tasted like vanilla ice cream.
Oh my.... this one i really can't remember. T.T
Hong Kong style mango pancake.
Sweet potato with rice ball in ginger soup.
Mango ice cream with mango. Duh!

On an unrelated note, loving my hair right now. I tried this new shampoo by Sunsilk and i'm loving the results. My hair is so soft and silky after washing. : )  Bye.

Weekend rewind:
Katy Perry - Not Like The Movies.
